Government’s transport innovation fund to be investigated

The government’s transport innovation fund is to be investigated by the Commons transport select committee. It will be taking evidence on the operation of the fund with particular emphasis on congestion schemes. The news follows claims that local authorities are being forced to take on road charging to obtain funding for public transport.

At the same time, it appears that over 2 million people will sign an ongoing petition against satellite based electronic tolling on all roads.
